On the afternoon of February 11th, Tottenham decided to sack manager Thomas Frank after a run of eight consecutive games without a win. This poor form has pushed Spurs closer to a relegation battle in the Premier League this season.
With the decision to terminate Frank's contract early, Tottenham is believed to have had to spend a considerable sum of money. The Daily Mail reports that Spurs paid £10 million to release Frank from his contract with Brentford last summer. After joining Tottenham, the 52-year-old coach signed a contract until June 2028 with a salary of approximately £8 million per year.
In total, Tottenham may have spent around £34 million on Frank's entire tenure as manager, including his release clause from Brentford and his salary during his time in the position.

In 38 matches across all competitions, manager Frank only led Tottenham to 13 wins, equivalent to an average cost of £1.23 million per win. Notably, only 7 of those were in the Premier League, and Spurs are yet to have won a domestic league title in 2026.
Some sources in England suggest that manager Frank's contract may include a clause reducing his compensation, meaning he would only receive about one year's salary, equivalent to £8 million. Even so, this is still a significant expense for Tottenham, given the team's ongoing squad rebuilding.
The decision to appoint manager Frank Frank was previously made by CEO Vinai Venkatesham and Technical Director Johan Lange. Now, the duo will have to find a suitable successor to help Tottenham avoid relegation at the end of the season.
