Can Tho City: Providing Khmer language training for Border Guard officers.

On July 18th, the Border Guard Command of Can Tho City, in coordination with the Southern Region Intermediate Pali Cultural Training School, held the opening ceremony for the 2025 Khmer language training course for unit officers. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dung, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Can Tho City Border Guard Command, attended and delivered the opening speech.

Venerable Thich Tang No, Vice Dharma Chief, Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, President of the Patriotic Monks' Solidarity Association of Can Tho City , Vice Principal of the Southern Region Intermediate Pali Cultural Supplementary School, along with other delegates, attended the opening ceremony of the Khmer language course.

Also attending the opening ceremony of the class were Venerable Thich Tang No, Vice Dharma Chief, Chairman of the Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, President of the Patriotic Monks' Solidarity Association of Can Tho City, Vice Principal of the Southern Region Intermediate Pali Cultural Supplementary School; and leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dung, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Can Tho City Border Guard Command, delivered the opening speech for the 2025 Khmer language training course.

Twenty officers and professional soldiers currently working at the Command Headquarters and border guard posts participated in this training course, but had not yet completed a basic Khmer language training course.

The course lasts 25 days with a total of 200 lessons (8 lessons/day), held on Fridays and Saturdays each week, taught by teachers from the Southern Region Intermediate Pali Cultural Supplementary School.

The training content, as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training , includes three main areas: recognizing written characters and combining syllables; everyday communication; and military terminology.

Teachers from the Southern Region Intermediate Pali Cultural Supplementary School instruct the students.

The course aims to equip students with basic knowledge, improve communication skills, and become fluent in Khmer, serving their role in communicating with the Khmer ethnic community in their work areas.

This contributes to improving the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization work among ethnic minority communities in the coastal border area of ​​Can Tho City; and actively implements the movement "All citizens participate in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new situation" in accordance with the spirit of Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister.
