On the morning of October 1, Ho Chi Minh City opened the Lifelong Learning Week 2025 with the theme: "Learning to develop yourself, mastering knowledge and technology, contributing to building a strong and prosperous country".
Attending the opening ceremony were Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Cao Thanh Binh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Hieu and representatives of many departments, branches and localities.
Spreading the spirit of lifelong learning
Lifelong Learning Week 2025 demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City's determination to build a learning society, towards becoming a UNESCO Global Learning City.
This is also a call for all cadres, civil servants, public employees, students, workers and people of Ho Chi Minh City to raise awareness of the role of regular, continuous and lifelong learning.
Along with that, encourage digital skills training, apply technology in learning and working, create equal learning opportunities, nurture talents and develop high-quality human resources to serve the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City and the country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Hieu said that departments, branches, organizations, wards, communes, special zones, schools, centers, and cultural institutions need to continue to pay attention and create conditions for all citizens to study regularly and continuously.
Each family, each clan promotes the tradition of studiousness, setting an example for the younger generation. Each citizen of the city should build the awareness of self-study, study more, study forever to develop themselves, master technology and knowledge, and contribute to the common development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized: "I call on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students and people of the city to actively participate in the activities of the week; turn the spirit of lifelong learning into practical actions in work and life; so that each person is a digital citizen, a global learning citizen".
Synchronous deployment throughout Ho Chi Minh City
At the opening ceremony, the organizers awarded scholarships to typical examples of lifelong learning, and performed a flag-waving ceremony and gave orders for a cheering parade.
There were 28 loudspeaker cars from 28 wards (in District 1, District 3, District 4, District 5, District 10, District 11, Phu Nhuan and the old Binh Thanh) participating in the parade through the central streets, spreading the spirit of lifelong learning to the community.
Communication and promotion activities of the Lifelong Learning Week 2025 are deployed synchronously throughout Ho Chi Minh City with many diverse and modern forms: billboards, banners, slogans at agencies, schools, and community learning centers.
Digital communication campaign with simultaneous avatar changes on websites and social networks of agencies, units and schools.
In particular, the entire LED screen system at traffic intersections, shopping malls, and large buildings in Ho Chi Minh City also simultaneously broadcast messages about the Lifelong Learning Week 2025 during the event.
