Uong Bi City: Reviewing bidding qualifications for contractors who violate contracts

On November 19, the People's Committee of Uong Bi City worked with contractors and related units on two projects: Upgrading Hoang Quoc Viet Street (from Trung Doan Bridge to Tue Tinh Street) and Upgrading Thanh Son Street (from Tran Hung Dao Street 7-way intersection to Tue Tinh Street) in Thanh Son Ward, Uong Bi City.

Comrade Pham Tuan Dat, Chairman of Uong Bi City People's Committee, inspected the Hoang Quoc Viet Street Renovation Project and Thanh Son Street Renovation Project.

The Hoang Quoc Viet Street Renovation Project and the Thanh Son Street Renovation Project are implemented according to the solution of the State and the people working together, in which Uong Bi City undertakes the underground items, lighting, road construction, and people participate in donating land and constructions on the land.

The construction value of 60 billion VND, from the budget of Uong Bi city, has been advanced over 50% up to now; the number of households donating land, assets, and architectural objects to hand over the project construction site is currently 233 households.

The two projects of Hoang Quoc Viet Street Renovation and Thanh Son Street Renovation are being actively implemented by Uong Bi City.

Currently, the two projects are still facing some problems with the site, the construction progress of some items has not met expectations, affecting the construction of the next items, so the amount of work to be implemented is still large, while the construction time is not long.

At the meeting, Mr. Pham Tuan Dat, Chairman of the People's Committee of Uong Bi City, requested relevant units to continue to persevere in persuading people to agree to implement the project, and resolutely handle cases of encroachment on sidewalks. The City's Construction Investment Project Management Board needs to have a plan to share with people for areas and structures that are too large; develop a construction protection plan for specific cases. Particularly, construction units must speed up the implementation progress, during the construction process, it is necessary to focus on ensuring environmental sanitation, overcoming noise reduction, and not affecting people's lives. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Uong Bi City emphasized: The city will consider the eligibility to participate in bidding for projects in the area for contractors who violate the contract signing time.
