On the morning of May 4, two high schools specializing in enrolling students with registered residence in and outside Ho Chi Minh City officially opened the portal for registration of admission to grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year. They are Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
Specifically, the Gifted High School - Ho Chi Minh City National University opens an online registration portal for admission to grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year from May 4 to 5:00 p.m. on May 11 at https://tuyensinh.ptnk.edu.vn/.
Parents can register online at home or come to the Gifted High School, District 5 campus (153 Nguyen Chi Thanh) for support, advice and instructions on online registration.
This year, the conditions for registering for the school entrance exam are that students are within the prescribed age, have a year-round academic conduct rating of good or higher for all junior high school classes, and a junior high school graduation rating of good or higher.
When registering for the exam, candidates are required to take 4 exams, including 3 non-specialized exams: Math, Literature, English and 1 optional specialized exam from the following subjects: Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and English.
In which, the non-major exam consists of 2 parts: essay and multiple choice, the major exam is in essay form.
Each candidate can register for a maximum of 2 specialized subjects in the elective specialized subject exam. In case of registering for 2 subjects, candidates must ensure to choose 1 subject in each group: Math - Literature; English - Physics - Chemistry - Biology - Information Technology.
Admission scores for specialized classes are determined based on the total score of the non-specialized exam and the specialized exam corresponding to the admission combination of the corresponding specialized class.
Non-major exam scores are calculated with a coefficient of 1, major exam scores are calculated with a coefficient of 2.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the Gifted High School will enroll 595 students in grade 10 at two campuses: District 5 (350 students) and Thu Duc City (245 students).

On the same day, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted also announced that junior high school graduates from provinces and cities outside Ho Chi Minh City can register for 10th grade admission from May 4 to 4:30 p.m. on May 9 online via the link https://bit.ly/41xOVd4.
From May 23 to 27, the school will receive application forms directly at the school and issue registration forms to candidates.
Application documents include an application form for grade 10 at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted; a copy of junior high school transcript (notarized or bring the original for comparison); a valid copy of birth certificate; 2 3x4 photos.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted will enroll 595 grade 10 students for specialized classes and 180 students for non-specialized classes.
To take the entrance exam to Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, candidates will take the exam together with the 2023 Public High School Grade 10 Entrance Exam organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.
To be eligible to take the entrance exam, students must graduate from junior high school in the 2022-2023 school year, have good or better results in training and learning for the entire school year in grades 6, 7, and 8, and graduate from junior high school with honors.
The admission score for specialized classes is the total score of the Literature, Foreign Language, Math and specialized subject exams (coefficient 2). The admission score for non-specialized classes is the total score of the Literature, Foreign Language and Math exams.

Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated exam regulations, and have achieved a score greater than 2 on all exams.
After receiving the 10th grade entrance exam results and submitting the admission application, if the school discovers that the application has errors in accordance with the regulations and is not eligible to take the exam, the candidate will be removed from the school's student list.
