The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued directives regarding the design plan for the Ring Road 2 - Pham Van Dong intersection.
This interchange is part of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 construction project (section from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street, Thu Duc City).

According to the finalized plan, this interchange will have a three-level design with three overpasses and one underpass.
Specifically, overpass number 1 (level +1) has 2 branches with 6 lanes on Ring Road 2, crossing Linh Dong, Pham Van Dong, Kha Van Can and Rach Ngang roads.
Overpass No. 2 (level +1) has a right-hand turn with 2 lanes from Ring Road 2 to Pham Van Dong Street, towards Tan Son Nhat Airport.
With the underpass (level -1), the left turn has 2 lanes from Pham Van Dong Street, heading towards Tan Son Nhat Airport and then onto National Highway 1 - Go Dua Bridge.
The flyover (level +2) with 4 lanes for two-way traffic on Pham Van Dong road will be implemented in a later phase.

The Department of Transport is tasked with monitoring and guiding the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport Works in organizing the appraisal and submission for approval of the Ring Road 2 Construction Project, including Section 1 from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street and Section 2 from Hanoi Highway to Pham Van Dong Street.
The Department of Planning and Architecture should urgently take the lead and coordinate with relevant parties to organize an architectural design competition for the aforementioned intersection.
Why is the 2.7km section of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 2 still behind schedule despite spending over 2 trillion VND?
Ho Chi Minh City needs more than 30,000 billion VND to complete the Ring Road 2.
Two projects to complete the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 have been proposed with a budget exceeding 17,000 billion VND.
