The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just given instructions on the design plan for the Ring Road 2 - Pham Van Dong intersection.
This intersection is part of the construction project of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 (section from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street, Thu Duc City).
According to the final plan, this intersection has a 3-level design with 3 overpasses and 1 underpass.
Specifically, overpass No. 1 (floor +1) has 2 branches with 6 lanes on Ring Road 2, crossing Linh Dong, Pham Van Dong, Kha Van Can and Rach Ngang streets.
Overpass No. 2 (floor +1) has a 2-lane right turn from Ring Road 2 to Pham Van Dong, in the direction of Tan Son Nhat airport.
With the underpass (floor -1), the left turn has 2 lanes from Pham Van Dong street, in the direction of Tan Son Nhat airport to National Highway 1 - Go Dua bridge.
The straight overpass (level +2) organizing 2-way traffic with 4 lanes on Pham Van Dong Street will be invested in the next phase.
The Department of Transport is assigned to monitor and guide the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects to organize the appraisal and approval of the Belt Road 2 Construction Project, including section 1 from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street and section 2 from Hanoi Highway to Pham Van Dong Street.
The Department of Planning and Architecture urgently presides over and coordinates with relevant parties to organize an architectural competition for the above-mentioned intersection.
Why is the 2.7km section of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 2 still behind schedule despite spending more than VND2,000 billion?
