Research and advise on proposed plan to not allow students to use mobile phones
On July 10, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the conclusion of Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department, at the post-merger meeting.
Many contents were deployed to the units. In particular, the most prominent is the request of Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu to assign the task to the Student Affairs Department to research and advise on a proposal to not allow students to use mobile phones during recess and duringeducational activities at school.
Students are only allowed to use mobile phones when permitted by subject teachers to perform tasks during class time.

At the same time, the planning department organizes activities during recess to create conditions for students to connect with each other, while also allowing them to practice physical activities. These activities are expected to be implemented in the 2025-2026 school year.
In addition, Mr. Hieu also requested the Student Affairs Department to preside over and coordinate with the Department's Personnel Organization Department to organize training courses for part-time teachers on counseling and supporting students in the summer of 2025.
Reviewing primary school admissions, soon announcing 10th grade admissions plan
Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu assigned the deputy director in charge of region 2 (former Binh Duong) and region 3 (former Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) to direct the Quality Management Department at the two facilities to send specialists to receive documents related to enrollment for the first grade classes.
He emphasized reviewing parents' wishes and supporting students to transfer schools according to actual needs, ensuring that all students in Ho Chi Minh City have a place to study.
The Director of the Department directed that in September, the General Education Department is responsible for presiding over and coordinating with the Quality Management Department to advise on the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2026-2027 school year as soon as possible so that students and teachers of educational institutions know and have direction in teaching and learning.
Implementing a plan to bring artificial intelligence into school teaching
The General Education Department presides over and coordinates with relevant departments to develop and implement a plan to introduce artificial intelligence into school teaching. At the same time, closely coordinate with Saigon University and relevant units in training and fostering teachers to improve their capacity to apply technology in teaching.

The Department aims to strive to effectively integrate artificial intelligence into teaching activities at educational institutions from the 2025-2026 school year.
At the same time, the General Education Department coordinates with the Financial Planning Department, based on current regulations, to advise on additional policies for teachers in charge of professional clusters.
The Financial Planning Department coordinated with the two regions to review the types of educational services being implemented to unify advice for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to submit to the City People's Council in the upcoming session.
A series of other instructions on professional work were also given by the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City after merging the Department of Education and Training of 3 units: Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
