On January 27th (the 28th day of the Lunar New Year), Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Construction Management Board for Transportation Projects (Transportation Board), announced that two projects have been simultaneously put into operation before the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, facilitating convenient travel for the people.

Both projects are key initiatives aimed at resolving traffic congestion at the city's gateways.

The Ba Hom Bridge, located on Provincial Road 10 and spanning the Tham Luong - Ben Cat canal, was newly constructed with a total investment of 374 billion VND, of which approximately 142 billion VND was for construction, with the remainder covering land acquisition and other expenses.

The project is approximately 425 meters long, including the bridge and approach roads, with the bridge deck being 24.5 meters wide and having 4 lanes. In addition, the project also includes landscaping, drainage, and concrete embankments along the Tham Luong canal...

The project was launched in 2019 but had to be temporarily suspended a year later due to land acquisition issues. By October 2023, Binh Tan District had resolved the difficulties, allowing the project to restart.

Mr. Luong Minh Phuc stated that after more than a year of construction combined with the relocation of technical infrastructure (electricity, water, telecommunications...), the entire project has been completed and put into operation.

The project will help reduce traffic congestion in the area, support local socio -economic development, and shorten travel time for residents and businesses.

Duong Quang Ham Street (Go Vap District) is nearly 2.5km long, with the road surface widened from 8m to 32m according to urban road standards. The project starts at the North-South railway line (Luong Ngoc Quyen Street) and ends at Nguyen Van Luong Street.

In phase 1, the project opened to traffic the section from the beginning of the route (Luong Ngoc Quyen Street) to Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School, 520m long, and the section from An Nhon Cultural House to the end of the route (Nguyen Van Luong Street), 295m long, which are completely new routes.

The middle section, measuring 1,640m, is under construction on the existing road and is therefore open to traffic.

"In this section, the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation has not yet completed the undergrounding and relocation of power poles, so there are still power poles located between the existing road and the widened road. To ensure traffic safety, the Traffic Management Board has used corrugated iron to fence off the power poles, painted them white and red, and installed flashing warning lights at night, and organized traffic according to the current situation," a representative of the Traffic Management Board said.

The Duong Quang Ham road upgrade project has a total investment of over 2,300 billion VND, divided into two independent components. Of these, the construction package is worth over 380 billion VND and land clearance is worth over 1,900 billion VND.

The project commenced in 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2025.

The completion and opening of Duong Quang Ham road not only solves the traffic congestion problem but also promotes commercial and business activities for people and businesses on both sides of the road.
