Mr. Tran Van Binh, residing in Thuong Phuoc commune, Dong Thap province, said that this is the second year that Giong Bang hamlet has organized a tour to experience the flood season and about 10 households have participated.
Each household will be in charge of a part of the tour such as rowing a boat to take tourists sightseeing, preparing typical dishes, and guiding experiential activities.
"The activity aims to introduce to tourists from near and far the activities of local people during the flood season, directly joining the people in the fields. We have welcomed over 3 groups of tourists from Ho Chi Minh City to visit," said Mr. Binh.

Currently, Ms. Trinh's 5-hectare white lotus field is in peak harvest season, selling an average of 500 flowers per day for pre-ordered customers, and at peak demand, selling 2,000 flowers per day.
"Lotus flowers can be harvested about 2 months after planting, and the harvest period lasts up to 6 months. Compared to rice cultivation, growing lotus is easier, you just need to be patient and monitor the water level in the field for the lotus to grow.
Each lotus flower delivered to the wholesale market costs about 3,000 VND/flower, the retail price is about 5,000 VND/flower. I plan to hire more workers and expand the lotus growing area in the coming time after the flood season," said Ms. Trinh.
