The program is to respond to the Appeal No. 217/LKG-TUHCTD (dated August 13, 2025) of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society on mobilizing support for the Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba on December 2 (1960-2025); implementing Official Dispatch No. 2964-CV/TU (dated August 22, 2025) of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Official Dispatch No. 63-CV/DU of the Provincial Party Committee on "Responding to the Appeal to Support the Cuban People".
Accordingly, each party member of the school donated at least 200,000 VND; each manager (head and deputy head of unit) donated at least 500,000 VND. In addition to the contribution of each individual, the school also contributed from the "One Day's Salary Fund" to participate, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and collective solidarity. On August 29, Ha Long University received over 100 million VND in donations.
According to the plan, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ha Long University will launch a campaign to support the Cuban people on the occasion of the opening ceremony on September 5, with the participation of nearly 10,000 students from the entire school.
Speaking at the launching program, comrade Tran Trung Vi, Party Secretary, Vice Principal of Ha Long University, emphasized: This is an opportunity for each cadre, party member, lecturer and student of Ha Long University to demonstrate their noble deeds, extending the traditional Vietnamese - Cuban tradition that previous generations have worked hard to cultivate. Solidarity and sharing are not only sentiments, but also our responsibility in the context of international integration. The school hopes that this humane action will continue to spread widely throughout the school...
The campaign to support the Cuban people at Ha Long University has practical significance, is a vivid expression of the pure international spirit, contributing to educating the younger generation about the value of the loyal solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.
