Tran Thanh 'criticizes' Van Mai Huong's acting

Commenting on Van Mai Huong's performance in the MV "Uot long" which paved the way for her 5th studio album, Tran Thanh humorously said that the female singer's performance was "not good enough" and called on the audience to wait and see the runner-up of Vietnam Idol 2010 act in his Tet movie next year.

Wet Heart, released on July 29, was written by musician - music producer Hua Kim Tuyen based on Van Mai Huong's own experiences and reflections on her love story. The female singer shared that after experiencing happiness, turmoil and even foolishness in love, she wanted to convey her personal story through music with the frank and open perspective of a modern woman.

Talking about Van Mai Huong, Tran Thanh said: "As someone who observes from afar as well as having very close contact, having gone through many ups and downs together, I see that in this showbiz, there are few people who have been in the profession for as long as Van Mai Huong but are still innocent, naive, and moved like the first time. That is the nature of an artist and that is why every song she performs is very real." The male MC highly appreciated Uot long because although the story is sad, it is not tragic.

Taking on the main role in the MV is the "talented" Thien Minh. Van Mai Huong said she invited the male singer 3 times but only this time did she receive a nod of agreement.

In terms of material, Uot long is a "bole-pop" song that blends bolero and pop music, but is actually a Latin rumba beat combined with bossa nova. The song also recalls Vietnamese music in the 60s and 70s of the last century, with a retro, nostalgic quality.

As a re-collaboration with Hua Kim Tuyen, the male musician confided about the previous promise when he told Van Mai Huong to find another producer. He said: "Tuyen and Ms. Huong, after many years of working together, are no longer simply colleagues but like sisters. Ms. Huong herself will have development in technique, in soul, in life experience. Tuyen is the same. Both are new every day, so nothing will be repeated."

Talking more about her 5th studio album, Van Mai Huong said that releasing an album every 2 years is not a race but simply "when the music is done, it's released". She also said that while the previous albums were mostly about Hua Kim Tuyen's feelings, perspectives, and thoughts, the stories in this album are completely her own.
