Ten thousand lacquer trees were given to poor and near-poor households in Po Chu Lung village.

The lacquer tree is a resinous tree, a valuable source of raw materials for many industries and handicrafts; roots, leaves, bark, and fruits are used as medicinal materials. Implementing the program, the two units supported 10,000 seedlings for 32 poor and near-poor households in Po Chu Lung village, covering a total area of ​​15 hectares. Previously, the People's Committee of Ngam La commune had developed a planting plan, established a planting process and techniques, and instructed households on how to treat the ground, prepare the soil, and fertilize. In addition to supporting lacquer tree seedlings worth 100 million VND, the delegation presented 59 gifts including necessities and nearly 6 million VND in cash to households in the village.

Ngam La commune leaders shared that this is a very meaningful support activity for people in the difficult Po Chu Lung area. With suitable soil characteristics, it is hoped that the model will open up a new direction for economic development, helping many families increase their income, reduce poverty and be an important premise for the commune to expand to many other areas.
