Warmth to those who contributed to the revolution

On the morning of July 21, 2025, the family of war invalid Lam Van Loi (born in 1967), residing in Long Phu Thuan commune, became warmer when the leaders of Long Phu Thuan commune visited and gave gifts on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). Representatives of local leaders kindly asked about Mr. Loi's health, living situation, and family economy .

Receiving the delegation in the newly repaired house of gratitude, Mr. Loi emotionally shared that in 1985, he volunteered to join the army and was assigned to fight in the southwestern border battlefield. During the battle, he was injured and broke 1/3 of his femur and 4 pieces of intestine. In 1988, Mr. Loi was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown, with a 2/4 class disabled certificate and a 76% disability rate. The war was long over, but the consequences left behind made his health decline, and he felt pain every time the weather changed. However, promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldier", Mr. Loi always tried to overcome difficulties, worked hard, stabilized his life and was a shining example for his children and grandchildren to follow.

Mr. Lam Van Loi confided: “Over the past years, I have received timely attention and care in terms of material and spiritual matters from the local government. In May, the local government supported me with 40 million VND to repair my house. Thanks to that, the house is more neat. In addition to receiving monthly war invalids' salary, on holidays and Tet, the local government also gives gifts to my family. Especially, they visit my health and life on the occasion of the 27/7 anniversary. With that attention, I feel very happy and have more spirit and motivation in my life in my old age.”

As for Mr. Vo Van Thom (born in 1975), residing in My Ngai ward, the nephew of martyr Vo Van Luc who died in 1964, on the occasion of July 27, his family was visited by the My Ngai ward union, presented with gifts, and supported in restoring the martyr's portrait. Mr. Vo Van Thom said: "For more than 20 years, I have worshiped my uncle, martyr Vo Van Luc. My family's circumstances are also difficult, I work as a bricklayer to cover the family's living expenses. For a long time, I also wanted to restore my uncle's photo but did not have the means. This year, the young people in the ward supported me in restoring my uncle's photo and gave gifts to my family. This is a very meaningful and practical gift for my family, I am very happy".

Not only showing the care and gratitude of the Party and State through visiting and giving gifts to those who have contributed to the revolution, but also at the martyrs' cemeteries in the province, they are also decorated spaciously and warmly to welcome relatives of heroic martyrs to visit their graves. At the provincial martyrs' cemetery (My Tra ward), on the days approaching July 27, many groups of martyrs' relatives came to burn incense and offer flowers to commemorate their loved ones. Sitting next to her husband's grave, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tay (83 years old) quietly burned incense and sadly remembered the memories of her late husband - martyr Nguyen Van Kieu who sacrificed his life in 1970.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tay shared: “My husband died when my children were still young. I raised three children by myself. Every year, near July 27, I come here to visit my husband’s grave. Over the past few years, when I come here to visit my husband’s grave, I see the cemetery staff taking care of the grave and planting flowers around it. I feel comforted and warmed.”

While burning incense for her biological father, martyr Vo Van Ngan, who died in 1969, Ms. Vo Thi Hong (75 years old), residing in Tan Nhuan Dong commune, said: “Every year, on holidays, Tet, and War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the commune supports me in taking me to visit my father's grave at the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery. Over the years, I have come here and seen that the graves in the cemetery, including my father's grave, are very well cared for and kept clean and beautiful. The cemetery grounds are also well-groomed, with trees, ornamental flowers... I feel very happy and touched.”
