On the morning of September 14, the Department of Home Affairs held a conference to deploy solutions to improve the provincial public administration performance index (PAPI) in 2023.

At the conference, delegates listened to Master Do Thanh Huyen, a public policy analyst of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam, introduce an overview of the PAPI index; assess and analyze the shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of the PAPI Index in the province in the past time and propose a number of solutions for implementation in the coming time.
According to the 2022 PAPI index survey results, Vinh Phuc province achieved 44.31 points, ranked 9th out of 63 provinces and cities, up 14 places compared to 2021 and was ranked in the group of provinces and cities with the highest scores.
Of which, 5/8 component indexes of the province are in the group of localities with high scores including: People's participation at the grassroots level; transparency in decision-making with people; accountability to people; public service provision; e-governance.
Also at the conference, delegates discussed the advantages and difficulties in implementing the task of improving the PAPI index at agencies, units and localities. At the same time, they proposed and recommended a number of solutions to improve the PAPI index in 2023 and the following years.
