Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT and Ms. Teni Widuriyanti, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Development Planning of Indonesia signed a 5-year cooperation agreement.
The event took place in the context of Vietnam and Indonesia upgrading their bilateral relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership after General Secretary To Lam's State visit to Indonesia in March 2025. This is also one of FPT's efforts to implement Resolution 59-NQ/TW on comprehensive and extensive international integration and Resolution 57-NQ/TW on developing high-quality human resources.
Accompanying Indonesia to realize the vision of “Golden Indonesia 2045”
In order to promote digital transformation in Indonesia, encourage innovation and develop high-quality digital human resources, contributing to realizing the vision of "Indonesia's Golden Generation" by 2045, FPT and the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a period of 5 years (2025 - 2030).
This MOU marks an important milestone in Indonesia’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), green technology and smart city solutions to promote inclusive and sustainable national development.
Under the cooperation agreement, FPT and Bappenas will jointly implement strategic initiatives to accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia. Specifically, the cooperation focuses on developing national and industry-level digital transformation orientations and plans, with a focus on improving digital governance capacity through the implementation of e- government systems, smart planning, and electronic monitoring platforms.
A key pillar of the partnership is digital workforce development. The two parties will design and implement comprehensive training and retraining programs in key areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, and data science. These programs will target civil servants, students, and young workers across Indonesia to build a future-ready workforce.
The agreement also promotes innovation through pilot projects that apply AI, green technology and smart agriculture to address challenges in urban management and sustainable development. FPT will provide strategic advice and policy contributions to shape Indonesia's digital economy, with a focus on areas such as logistics, fintech and digital infrastructure.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa shared at the signing ceremony between FPT and Bappenas
“To realize the vision of Indonesia’s golden generation in 2045, we must leverage technology, strengthen our industrial base, and invest in the next generation of digital talent. Through this collaboration, we will not only strengthen our national technological capabilities, but also jointly create a shared, inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-rich future for both Indonesia and Vietnam,” said Indonesian Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy.
“FPT is honored to accompany the Indonesian Government on its digital transformation journey. Our commitment goes beyond technology, and aims to create a future where innovation brings real value to people, drives the economy, and drives sustainable development.
Through this cooperation, we also hope to build a sustainable digital ecosystem that not only serves Indonesia's national vision, but also contributes to the digital connection and development process of Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific regions," said Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT.
The signing ceremony is the result of in-depth discussions during the visit to FPT by the Indonesian Government delegation in April 2025 led by Mr. Rachmat Pambudy - Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas).
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT, also had a working session with Mr. Haedar Nashir, Chairman of Muhammadiyah - one of the largest civil organizations in the world in terms of number of members and educational and medical network.
FPT and Muhammadiyah discussed cooperation opportunities in four areas: digital transformation, digital resources, digital education and digital healthcare. One of the first cooperation opportunities realized by the two sides is FPT and Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) - signing a cooperation agreement focusing on training IT human resources, especially in the fields of AI and semiconductors. At the same time, the two sides will also consider future business cooperation opportunities.

Specifically, FPT signed a memorandum of understanding with Amikom University Yogyakarta, Bunda Mulia University, the Indonesian Institute of Technology and a Letter of Intent with Ciputra University. These agreements contribute to expanding the international partnership network, creating conditions for Vietnamese and Indonesian students to access a global learning environment, while promoting research cooperation and innovation.
FPT leaders also had a working session with the Indonesian Ministry of Education. The Indonesian Ministry of Education proposed that the two sides establish a specialized team to exchange and share experiences in training high-tech human resources and transfer training programs for different sectors.
Entering the Indonesian market in 2017, FPT has gradually affirmed its position as a leading prestigious technology partner in the region. Recently, the Group signed a $67 million agreement with KMP Aryadhana and established a strategic partnership in the field of AI with the national oil and gas group Pertamina, during the official visit to Indonesia by General Secretary To Lam in March 2025.
Currently, FPT has a team of more than 200 technology experts and two large offices in Indonesia with a third office expected to open this year.
