From May 28th to 31st, an exhibition of 100 Vietnamese picture books to love and remember will take place at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street. This picture book exhibition is part of the first-ever Children's Picture Book Festival in Vietnam, organized by Slowbooks.
The exhibition showcases 100 representative Vietnamese picture books, reflecting the development of domestic picture books over the past 20 years (2006-2026). Through this display, the exhibition helps the public better understand the artistic and cultural value of Vietnamese picture books, while also honoring domestic authors and illustrators.

In addition to the picture book exhibition, the book festival will feature a diverse and in-depth series of activities. Highlights include an exhibition of works from the Korean Picture Book Publishers Association, along with discussion sessions on picture books that will provide a multifaceted perspective on this field. Furthermore, there will be a picture book fair with thousands of titles from reputable domestic publishers and distributors, as well as creative workshops, interactive reading sessions, and conversations with authors and illustrators.
In addition, the copyright exchange meeting room is designed as a professional networking space, promoting cooperation between domestic and international publishing houses, with the participation of representatives from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and others.
The Vietnam Children's Picture Book Festival 2026 is expected not only to contribute to a clearer definition of the position of picture books in the cultural life of reading, but also to open up opportunities for the Vietnamese children's publishing industry to develop in a professional direction and integrate internationally.
