(CLO) The South Korean and Japanese militaries said North Korea fired at least seven short-range ballistic missiles on Tuesday (November 5) off its east coast.
North Korea's latest launch comes after it condemned military exercises between the US, Japan and South Korea, and just hours before the US election.
The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has condemned military exercises involving the United States, Japan and South Korea, in a report published on state news agency KCNA.

Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani said at least seven missiles reached an altitude of 100 km and flew 400 km before falling outside Japan's exclusive economic zone into the sea.
The missiles were fired at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday local time from the Sariwon area in North Hwanghae Province, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
The US military said the US was consulting closely with South Korea, Japan and other regional allies following the launches and continued to monitor the situation.
The latest launch follows North Korea's test of a new solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile called the Hwasong-19 last week.
The missile launch also came after Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui at the Kremlin on Monday, aiming to strengthen comprehensive ties between the two countries, including defense.
