According to AFP, Panama's National Aviation Authority (SENAN) said an AW-139 helicopter disappeared on September 10 while on a mission in the western part of the Central American country.
A statement from SENAN (the branch of the Panamanian Public Forces responsible for maritime security and the country's navy) said search efforts are underway to locate the AW-139 and its three crew members.
The AW-139 disappeared between Punta Rincon, on the Caribbean coast, and the city of Santiago de Veraguas, located inland and about 250km from Panama City.
The statement said the helicopter was carrying a pilot, co-pilot and technician.
Authorities have dispatched four aircraft to search for the missing helicopter./ .
