The 17th Congress of Delegates of the Party Committee of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, term 2025 - 2030

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of June 21, the Party Committee of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy solemnly held the 17th Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term. Attending the Congress were comrades representing the leaders of the Party Building Committees, the Party Committee of the City People's Committee; representatives of the Ministry of Health; and 232 party members representing 812 party members of the entire Party Committee.

The Congress has the task of summarizing the 2020-2025 term; setting out directions, goals and solutions for the 2025-2030 term; contributing opinions to the documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the draft of the first political report of the Party Committee of the City People's Committee...

The Party Committee of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy currently has 812 party members operating in 25 party cells (including 21 party cells for cadres, civil servants and 4 party cells for students). In the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee of the school has comprehensively led and directed, achieving many important achievements in all aspects. Notably, undergraduate and postgraduate training has developed strongly in both scale and quality. Training programs have been reviewed and innovated in both content and methods. In the past 5 years, the school has opened 13 new postgraduate training programs (bringing the total number of postgraduate training programs of the school to 57 programs) and is currently completing the application to open 15 new programs. The number of students has increased over the years, especially the number of students in postgraduate training programs (in the 2023-2024 school year alone, more than 1,000 postgraduate students will enroll).

In the undergraduate training programs, in addition to the comprehensive innovation of the medical program, the school leaders have directed the development and implementation of a medical training program in English aimed at receiving international students. Practice facilities have been expanded to hospitals in Hanoi and the northern provinces. The school has mobilized all resources to enhance the equipment for classrooms, laboratories, libraries, classrooms, as well as for training and fostering activities to meet the needs of teaching, learning, research and improving the quality of the teaching staff to meet the requirements of standardization and improvement of the quality of higher education institutions.

Over the past 5 years, the University's scientific research and international cooperation activities have also achieved many outstanding results. The school's staff, lecturers and students have participated in and completed research on 1,175 scientific topics, 754 scientific articles published in scientific journals (including 251 articles in international scientific journals). The school has proactively connected with universities, hospitals, and domestic and international scientific organizations (WHO, ANM, ANRS, ANRS-MIE, ACCP, CNU, TMU, Okayama University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Kanazawa University - Japan...) to regularly organize scientific seminars and conferences even in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the Party building work, in the past term, the School Party Committee had nearly 20% of Party cells recognized as Party cells that excellently completed their tasks; 97-98% of Party members were considered to have completed their tasks, of which 78-80% were Party members who completed their tasks well, 18% - 20% of Party members completed their tasks excellently...

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Party Committee of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy identified 7 key tasks and solutions and 3 breakthroughs towards the goal of developing Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy into an autonomous university training qualified health sectors; Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital becomes a specialized technical medical center, meeting the requirements and high development orientation of the country, the industry and the city.

To achieve that goal, the School focuses on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training activities (teaching and learning theory and practice) through developing high-quality human resources for the school, thereby training human resources as a team of high-quality medical staff for the city, for localities, for the country; proactively and actively integrating comprehensively and deeply into the international community for the development of training activities, technical expertise and science and technology; promoting digital transformation in education and training activities, in scientific research activities, technical expertise serving the community.

In the work of Party building, the Party Committee of the school will strengthen the work of political and ideological education for cadres and party members, specifically organizing the effective implementation of Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh; strictly implementing Regulation No. 101 of the Secretariat on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and party members, especially key cadres at all levels, Resolution of the Central Committee 4 (12th term) on "Strengthening Party building and rectification, preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party". At the same time, doing a good job of organizing Party building, inspection, supervision and building a contingent of cadres and party members with steadfast political will, enthusiasm, responsibility and aspirations to rise up.
