The Party Committee of Vietnam Maritime University identifies three strategic breakthroughs in the 2025-2030 term.

Attending and directing the Congress were comrade Le Anh Quan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee. Also attending the Congress were representatives of Party Committees under the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee Party Committee, agencies under the Ministry of Construction , representatives of Party organizations, agencies and units in the city; together with 248 official delegates, representing more than 1,200 party members from 34 grassroots party organizations under the Party Committee of Vietnam Maritime University.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Khiem, Party Secretary, Chairman of the School Council delivered the opening speech.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Khac Khiem - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the School Council emphasized: The 28th Congress has the task of comprehensively assessing the implementation results of the Resolution of the 27th Congress; pointing out the limitations, causes, lessons learned; at the same time determining the direction, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term, with the spirit of: "Solidarity - Intelligence - Innovation - Development".

During the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of the School led the School to overcome many difficulties and challenges, completing 24/25 targets set by the Congress Resolution, of which 16 targets were exceeded. Enrollment remained stable; many new training programs were implemented; training quality was increasingly improved. Scientific research activities, international publications and Party membership admissions all achieved many outstanding results.

In particular, the Project to build Vietnam Maritime University into a national key university has been completed, submitted to the Ministry of Construction and is in the process of preparing a report for the Government to consider and approve.

Comrade Le Anh Quan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, gave a speech directing the Congress.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Le Anh Quan, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam Maritime University is a political event of special significance, marking the maturity and new responsibility of the University in the context of Hai Phong city's strong development, together with the country, entering a new era.

On behalf of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee Party Committee, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee commended the outstanding achievements that the School's Party Committee has achieved in the past term, especially its role as a center for training high-quality human resources for the maritime industry, marine economy and key sectors of the country.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan expressed his agreement and appreciation for the three strategic breakthroughs that the Party Committee of the University has identified in the new term, which are: Building the University into a national key university in research and training to serve the sustainable development of the marine economy by 2030, with a vision to 2045 - with the requirement of innovating training programs and teaching methods according to international CDIO standards; Developing a team of highly qualified, dedicated, innovative leaders and lecturers - a key factor determining the quality of education, while promoting an effective linkage model between the State - School - Enterprise; Improving the quality of scientific research and technology transfer, aiming to become a leading research and innovation center in the fields of transportation, construction and marine economy.

The Standing Vice Chairman suggested that the Party Committee of the University in the coming term should focus on: consolidating a clean and strong Party organization; paying attention to building a team of high-quality staff; maintaining internal solidarity; promoting business connections, creating sustainable output for students; actively participating in the city's and the country's marine economic development strategies.

The 28th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam Maritime University for the 2025-2030 term continued on June 21 with the discussion of the political report, election of the new Executive Committee and adoption of the Congress Resolution. The success of the Congress will be an important foundation for the University to continue to develop strongly, worthy of being the leading training and research center in the maritime field, actively contributing to the development of Hai Phong city and the country in the new period./.
