Dear veteran journalists, journalists, press workers, delegates, distinguished guests, compatriots, and comrades!

1. Joining in the heroic, excited and joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, today, we are very pleased to attend the 19th National Press Awards ceremony - the most prestigious annual press award to honor authors and works with outstanding contributions to the development of the country's press.

On this occasion, we respectfully bow, remember and express our infinite gratitude to our beloved President Ho Chi Minh - the great national hero, outstanding world revolutionary soldier, world cultural celebrity, and founder of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, I would like to send to veteran journalists, generations of journalists, journalists, press managers, delegates and all comrades my respectful greetings, warm regards and best wishes.

2. Starting from Thanh Nien Newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, throughout the past 100 years of history, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has continuously developed and grown stronger, affirming its role as a sharp and important political , cultural and ideological weapon, with the motto of serving the Fatherland, serving the People, for the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and has made great contributions and dedication in the struggle for national independence and freedom, national unification and the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

In any conditions and circumstances - whether in the "hell on earth" forced labor prisons of imperialism and colonialism, in the revolutionary war zones full of difficulties and hardships, on fierce and fierce battlefields, or in the most difficult times of the cause of innovation, integration and prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters, storms and floods full of dangers, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press always affirms the truth, justice, wholeheartedly, wholeheartedly, wholeheartedly serving the correct guidelines, lines and policies of our Party, State and People. Many newspapers have fulfilled their historical mission, making an important contribution to building the tradition, humanistic values, core, historical significance of the Revolutionary Press (such as Hammer and Sickle Newspaper, Red Magazine, National Salvation Newspaper...). All of this has led to today, when we have witnessed the remarkable development of the Revolutionary Press system from the central to local levels, in which many press agencies have reached a high level of development, modernity, professionalism, multi-form, multi-modality, and multimedia.

Making a glorious history of 100 years, we are very proud that journalists always imbue, engrave and follow the profound teachings of beloved President Ho Chi Minh: "The press is a front. Journalists are revolutionary soldiers. Pens and papers are their sharp weapons. Articles are revolutionary calendars" and "Your pens are also sharp weapons in the cause of supporting the righteous and eliminating evil".

We express our deep gratitude and appreciation for the heroic sacrifices of hundreds of journalists in the wars - generations of journalists who, regardless of hardships and dangers, were present on all front lines of the front to create films, images, and articles that touched people's hearts, contributing to converging unparalleled strength for the country to shine, firmly overcome all difficulties and challenges of the times, create heroic historical victories, timeless miracles, opening up a bright future - national independence, national unification and the whole country moving towards socialism.

In the process of innovation, construction, development and protection of the Fatherland today, the Revolutionary Press continues to affirm its core role in propagating, disseminating, orienting, encouraging and promoting the implementation of the Party's platform, guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws; is a solid and strong bridge between the Party, the State and the People; contributes to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership, direction, management and operation of all levels, sectors and localities.

The press plays a leading role, providing accurate and timely information, with a spirit of criticism, orienting public opinion, creating social consensus; contributing to firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc and the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State.

The press proactively and actively contributes to protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints; preventing and combating corruption, negativity and waste.

The press widely spreads humanistic values, compassion, goals, ideals, ambitions, and dreams, with many typical and progressive examples, contributing to raising people's knowledge, forming correct viewpoints, cultural values, and good standards, bringing vivid and profound images of the country and people of Vietnam, contributing to enhancing the role, position, and prestige of the Vietnamese people and Vietnam in the international arena.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders and the people of the whole country, I acknowledge, highly appreciate and sincerely thank the great contributions of press agencies, veteran journalists and generations of journalists to the revolutionary cause of the nation, making an important contribution to the great achievements of our Party, State and People; and deeply express my gratitude to the journalists who have sacrificed their entire lives for the cause of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism.

3. The National Press Award approved by the Prime Minister is an event of special significance with the purpose of honoring journalism and journalistic activities, recognizing the contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and honoring individual journalists with high achievements.

During its 19th edition, the National Press Awards have attracted tens of thousands of high-quality journalistic works to participate, and thousands of excellent works have been awarded. Among them, many works have been invested in meticulously, thoroughly, have had widespread and profound impacts, contributing to orienting ideology, propagating policies, criticizing society, and spreading noble humanistic values ​​throughout the country and abroad. Many award-winning authors have matured, become great journalists, and held various leadership positions, many of whom have taken on important responsibilities in press agencies and other important agencies of the Party and State.

We warmly congratulate the authors who were awarded the 19th National Press Awards, with their excellent press works of high quality in terms of ideology, politics, and culture, with attractive content and form of expression, high social influence, demonstrating combativeness, revolutionary character, scientific character, humanism, political sensitivity, economic acumen, and scientific and technological depth.

On this occasion, we also share and take responsibility for the difficulties and challenges that journalists are facing or press agencies are facing, especially the explosive development of social networks, new methods and forms of communication, fierce competition in the field of information and communication, which has had a profound impact on press activities in many aspects. We believe that journalists and press agencies will continue to make efforts, determined to innovate, adapt, overcome, produce more press works imbued with sweat, tears, the breath of life and continue to spread. The Party, the State, the Government, and the Prime Minister always understand and direct the competent agencies to focus on research, review, and have appropriate mechanisms, policies, and solutions to promote the Revolutionary Press to develop more strongly and comprehensively, to better serve the revolutionary cause of our Party, State, and People.

In the journey of the nation's rise and strong development, the Revolutionary Press plays a particularly important role, creating motivation, inspiration, arousing the desire for development, creating new, nobler and greater values ​​for the country; fanning the desire for a strong, prosperous, and compassionate Vietnam; spreading that desire widely to all classes of people, throughout society, turning it into will, determination and action. This is the responsibility, the command of the times, the voice of the heart, of the conscience and dignity of the Vietnamese people for the team of revolutionary journalists.

Each press agency and each journalist must clearly recognize their own glory and noble responsibility. Promoting the glorious tradition of 100 years, the Revolutionary Press must always be an honest, objective voice, reflecting multi-dimensionally, comprehensively, and covering the flow of life; be a solid, tight, and effective bridge between the Party, the State, and the People; courageously fight against the bad, the toxic, the negative, and at the same time encourage and spread typical examples, good things, and profound human values ​​in our society.

Revolutionary press must be a pioneer in grasping and applying modern technology to improve communication efficiency; proactively transform digitally, develop multimedia journalism, make full use of the power of the internet and social networks, digital technology to bring positive, objective, honest, accurate, timely information to the public in the fastest and most effective way, contributing to building a healthy, humane media ecosystem that serves the people.

Revolutionary press must be an open and receptive forum for people to express and share their thoughts and aspirations, give honest opinions, participate in social supervision and criticism, so that people's voices are heard and accepted, contributing to building a clean and strong political system, creating social consensus, and strengthening people's trust.
