Minh Vuong leaves: Where is the golden generation of HAGL now?
Cong Phuong, one of the brightest talents of Vietnamese football, was once the soul of HAGL and the pride of Pleiku fans. After years of dedication to the mountain town team, Cong Phuong moved abroad to try his hand and then to Ho Chi Minh City Club and now Binh Phuoc Club in the first division. Despite many ups and downs, Cong Phuong is still one of the beloved and expected names in both the club and the national team. Last season, he made an excellent comeback with impressive form in Binh Phuoc's shirt.
Xuan Truong
The once prominent faces of HAGL
Luong Xuan Truong, a talented central midfielder, has also been an indispensable pillar in the HAGL squad over the years. After playing in Korea, Xuan Truong returned to HAGL and continued to prove his talent. However, like his teammates, Xuan Truong decided to leave HAGL to seek a new challenge. After the season at Ha Tinh Club, Xuan Truong may soon move to Binh Phuoc Club and reunite with his old teammate Cong Phuong.
Tuan Anh
Nguyen Tuan Anh, one of the great talents of HAGL and Vietnamese football, but his career was troubled by injuries. At the same time as Cong Phuong, Quang Hai, Xuan Truong, he did not have any major international titles compared to his peers because of constant injuries. Only when he moved to Nam Dinh Club did he have championship experiences with 2 V-League titles and 1 National Super Cup title. With skillful techniques and excellent game reading ability, Tuan Anh is one of the top central midfielders of V-League.
Hong Duy
Hong Duy, an outstanding talent trained at the HAGL Arsenal JMG academy, has become one of the most beloved players by Vietnamese football fans. Hong Duy is one of the "Heroes of Changzhou" when he and the U.23 Vietnam team won the runner-up position at the 2018 U.23 Asian Cup. Not only that, he also played an important role in the national team under the leadership of coach Park Hang-seo, with the team winning the 2018 AFF Cup and reaching the quarter-finals of the 2019 Asian Cup. However, he was not destined for the title at HAGL and, like Tuan Anh, transferred to play for Nam Dinh Club, where he and his teammates dominated the V-League for two consecutive seasons.
Van Toan
Van Toan will leave HAGL in 2023 after 15 years of association, marking a major turning point in his career. At the age of 27, with a desire to try his hand in a new environment, he decided to go abroad and join Seoul E-Land FC in Korea. However, like many other Vietnamese players who have tried their hand abroad, Van Toan's career at the Korean club was quite lackluster. He had difficulty adapting to the playing style and did not have many opportunities to show himself. After a short time, he decided to return to Vietnam and join Nam Dinh Club - where the striker born in 1996 won the V-League twice in a row.

MINH TRAN
HAGL's playing style has changed significantly in recent years. In particular, under the leadership of Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh, the team has switched to a more pragmatic playing style, focusing more on physical strength. These changes have probably not yet brought results as the mountain town team has not been able to regain its former glory and is still struggling in the bottom half of the rankings. The club still follows the philosophy of developing young talent and fans are still waiting for a truly spectacular transformation of the one-time symbol of Vietnamese football.
