Vietnam is hosting Group C of the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers – the first tournament in their quest for an Olympic spot. The U23 team is in the same group as Singapore, Yemen, and Laos. The four teams will play a round-robin format, with head-to-head results considered before tie-breaking criteria are established.

Vietnam will play all three matches at 7 PM, against Guam, Yemen, and Singapore on September 6th, 9th, and 12th, respectively. These three teams are all considered weaker than the host nation, so Philippe Troussier's team has a strong chance of topping the group.

The U23 Asian Cup qualifiers are limited to players born on or after January 1, 2001, and consist of 42 teams divided into 11 groups. Host nation Qatar participates but their results are not counted. North Korea initially agreed to participate but withdrew in August 2023.

The top 11 teams from each group, and the four best-performing second-placed teams, will join Qatar in the finals in April 2024. Due to the existence of groups of three and four teams, results against the last-placed team will not be counted when comparing the second-placed teams.
