Drug kingpin sentenced to over 800 years in prison for massacre.

Guatemala: A court in Guatemala City sentenced a drug lord to 808 years in prison for his involvement in the 2008 massacre of 15 Nicaraguans and a Dutch citizen.

Morales was arrested in 2022 after 13 years on the run, and his trial began in September 2023.

According to prosecutors, in the 2008 massacre, the bus carrying the victims from Nicaragua and Guatemala was intercepted by drug traffickers.

Eight other suspects, including Montiel Marin's wife, Sara Cruz, were also sentenced to prison, with varying terms.

Although the court sentenced him to over 800 years in prison, in reality, Guatemalan law stipulates that a prisoner cannot serve more than 50 years.
