To celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse, on January 8th, a special exhibition titled "Horses Returning to the City" will be held at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam National Special Monument ( Hanoi ).

The exhibition features works by Central Highlands cultural researcher Dang Minh Tam; artist Le Huy and the Lamphong Studio group, along with images and artifacts related to horses from several other cultural spaces.
The exhibited works and documents showcase diverse approaches to the image of the horse, ranging from in-depth cultural research and contemporary painting language to innovative art installations. Through this, the exhibition portrays the horse as both familiar to tradition and imbued with the spirit of the times, reflecting the aspiration for breakthroughs in thinking, action, and creativity within contemporary society.
At the exhibition, Central Highlands cultural researcher Dang Minh Tam will present seven columns, each 20 cm in diameter, depicting various aspects of the Ede people's life, with a horse figure at the top of each column.
Each wooden pillar is carved with different themes, such as animals (grasshoppers, deer, elephants, buffaloes); scenes of daily life (beating gongs, drums, blowing horns, playing stringed instruments); scenes of festivals (ceremonial poles, pounding rice, drinking rice wine); patterns; and the cycle of human life from birth, meeting and falling in love, working, and dying…

In addition, Mr. Tam has also added antique horse saddles, horseshoes from Da Lat, and various horse care tools… Notably, during the exhibition, researcher Dang Minh Tam will demonstrate the process of crafting wooden statues.
The "Horses Returning to the City" exhibition is an activity to kick off the new year 2026, contributing to spreading traditional values, inspiring a spirit of learning, ambition, and faith in a strong, resilient, and far-reaching new year.
