Participating in the Presidium of the Ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of National Defense; former commanders of Military Region 5; leaders and commanders of Division 2 and Regiment 95 through the periods; commanders of Army units stationed in Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces; representatives of local Party committees and authorities where Regiment 95 was stationed.

The Presidium attended the 80th Anniversary of the 95th Regiment's Traditional Day.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Ron, Regiment Commander, reviewed the 80-year journey of building, fighting and growing up of Regiment 95: Implementing Military Order No. 2 of the Provisional People's Revolutionary Committee, on August 23, 1945, in Quang Tri, the province's Liberation Army Unit was established. On September 19, 1945, the Liberation Army Unit was transformed into Thien Thuat Unit. At the end of 1947, to meet the requirements of the resistance war against French colonialism, Binh - Tri - Thien Sub-region (under Military Region 4) was established, and Thien Thuat Regiment was renamed Regiment 95.

After 80 years of building, fighting and growing, Regiment 95 was twice honored by the Party and State as a Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces. The Regiment has 7 collectives and 3 individuals honored as Heroes of the People's Armed Forces. During the resistance war against French colonialism, Regiment 95 was awarded the First Class Military Exploit Medal by the Party and State, 7 collectives and 12 individuals were awarded the Military Exploit Medal; hundreds of officers and soldiers were awarded certificates of merit.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Regiment 95 was awarded the "Determined to fight, Determined to win" flag by President Ho Chi Minh; the Command of Military Region 5 awarded the "Brave, resilient, good fighting, complete destruction" flag; the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam awarded the "Determined to fight, determined to win" flag; the Command of Army Corps 3 awarded the "Fight resiliently, cut off the road completely" flag.

In addition, the Regiment was honored to receive many other noble orders, medals and awards from the Party, the State and the two countries of Laos and Cambodia. Many officers and commanders of the 95th Regiment have matured and become generals and high-ranking officers, holding important responsibilities of the Party, the State and the Army.
