The incident began in March 2017, when a woman named Trach Han Han (then 37 years old) met To Huong Mau (founder of WePhone - a social application similar to Skype, 43 years old) through a dating website in Beijing.
They got married about 2 months later (on June 7, 2017), and divorced on July 18, 2017. The time from when they met to when they divorced was only 110 days.
The incident shocked China when on September 7, 2017, Su Xiangmao committed suicide by jumping from a high-rise building in Haidian District, Beijing.
The day before, the man posted online that he was blackmailed by his ex-wife after a month-long marriage. Su Xiangmao called Ze Xinxin an "extremely evil ex-wife" and that he was forced to commit suicide.

Su Xiangmao met Ze Xinxin through the VIP service of a dating website. Su Xiangmao said that Ze Xinxin not only lied about her age and occupation, but also deliberately concealed her past marriage, which made him very miserable at the time.
According to Red Star News , in 2018, Su Xiangmao's family sued Zhe Xinxin, asking the court to cancel the transfer of their son's assets to this woman. At the same time, the family demanded that Zhe Xinxin return all the cash that Su Xiangmao gave her.
The Chaoyang District Court (Beijing capital) said that in the 110 days from their first meeting until the divorce, Ze Xinxin received a car, jewelry and more than 436,000 USD from Su Xiangmao. The court concluded that Ze Xinxin married Su Xiangmao "for the obvious purpose of profit".

The court ordered Trach Han Han to return to To Huong Mau's family the Cartier jewelry set worth $47,000, the Tesla car worth $145,000, and nearly $280,000 that she received from her ex-husband through multiple transfers.
In her suicide note, Su Xiangmao said that Zhe Xinxin threatened to go to the police station to report her ex-husband for tax evasion and illegal operations of his company. Su Xiangmao agreed and bought Zhe Xinxin an apartment, transferred 6.6 million yuan (over $960,000) into the account and wrote an IOU for 3.4 million yuan (nearly $495,000).
Trach Han Han argued that the gifts and cash were all "wedding gifts". However, the court rejected this argument because Trach Han Han asked her ex-husband to buy her gifts and give her money. This request was against the traditional custom of giving wedding gifts.
Text messages read in court revealed that on one occasion after they had an argument, Su Xiangmao asked Zhe Xinxin for forgiveness and she replied: "Aren't you flirting with me? Transfer me 50,000 yuan (nearly $7,300) every day from the day after tomorrow until I agree to marry you."
According to the South China Morning Post on April 8, the court concluded that Trach Han Han's blackmail contributed to To Huong Mau's suicide and that the divorce agreement was invalid because she forced her ex-husband to sign it.
