Workers don’t need to have amazing acrobatic abilities, or superpowers, or the ability to ride somersaults like in Journey to the West. They just need to like Monkey King or Sun Wukong, and have a big appetite to consume the food that tourists can feed him every day.

Wuzhishan Scenic Area is looking for potential candidates for the role of a household name, and is willing to pay up to 6,000 yuan (US$950) if successful, Shangyou News reported.

Upon receiving the job, workers must dress in Monkey King costumes, sit in a cave at the foot of the mountain and wait for tourists to come and feed them, whether it's instant noodles, apples or bananas.

“What kind of amazing job is this? Endless free food and you get paid too?”, according to one comment on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok.

And applicants do not need any experience, nor do they need any qualifications or education.

The scenic area manager said that he had hired two people to act as "Spirit Equaling Heaven", and only needed a third person.

Fortunately, the "Spirit of Heaven" is not forced to swallow all the food that tourists bring, but they can keep some and share it with their colleagues later. This allows them to avoid "eating until their stomachs burst".
