This is a pioneering model in the public highereducation system in Vietnam, opening up the opportunity to complete a bachelor's degree program within 3 years instead of the usual 4 years. The project aims to promote personalized education and digital transformation, while contributing to providing high-quality human resources and optimizing the school's training resources.

Accordingly, students with good learning ability, clear plans and a desire to accelerate will have their own roadmap designed to allow them to graduate after only 3 years of formal study thanks to flexible mechanisms of advanced study, summer study, evening study, weekend study and online study.

In particular, each participating student will be accompanied by a team of personal academic advisors including lecturers and alumni, helping to maintain learning progress and support in overcoming the pressure of studying too hard.

To do this, the school has built a set of synchronous solutions to ensure the quality of program implementation and a positive learning experience for students.

Dr. Nguyen Xuan Long, Rector of the University of Foreign Languages – VNU, said that the tuition policy is also flexibly adjusted according to credits, with incentives for students who graduate early. The school will coordinate with businesses to grant “BRT Rise” scholarships, organize early internships and prioritize student recruitment.

However, this program does not automatically apply to all students. To participate, students need to meet one of two entry requirements (new students must meet foreign language output standards upon admission or first-year students must achieve a GPA ≥ 3.2 after the first semester of the first year). Students must also have a clear personal study plan and commit to pursuing an advanced study path, have a spirit of self-study and discipline.

The pilot program will officially run from August 2025 to June 2026. The extended review and evaluation phase is expected to take place from July to December 2026.

“The implementation of this program is not only a training organization solution but also demonstrates the School's strong spirit of innovation in the direction of personalized and high-quality education. The School does not force students to learn quickly, but creates conditions for those with clear abilities and goals to develop in the most appropriate way with the companionship of a comprehensive support system,” said Mr. Long.

Mr. Long said that shortening the training time does not mean cutting content or reducing quality. On the contrary, this program requires students to make more efforts, have willpower, discipline, and have the desire to break through to meet the output standards.
