After the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi , announced the admission scores on the evening of August 22, many candidates were surprised and confused to learn that they failed the university entrance exam, even though they had carefully calculated and achieved enough passing scores.
The cause was determined to be an initial mistake in the school's enrollment plan signed on June 4 when defining the D66 admission subject combination.
According to the initial enrollment plan, the D66 group includes the subjects of literature, English, and economic and legal education. This group has been widely announced in the media and the school's official website. Candidates have registered their wishes to enter the school based on this information.

Group D66 has economic and legal education subjects appearing in 27/28 admission majors in the Admissions Project of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Screenshot).
However, when the benchmark scores were announced, candidates discovered that the D66 combination had been redefined, replacing the subject of economic and legal education with the subject of civic education.

In the announcement of admission to group D66, there is a subject called civic education (Screenshot).
This change has led to a serious consequence, many candidates used their economic and legal education scores to apply to the school, although they had enough points to pass the admission test according to this combination, but were rejected because the school used their civic education scores.
The D66 combination appears in 27/28 programs/majors for admission to the school (except for Japanese Studies), so its impact is relatively broad.
It is known that during this period, the school posted a correction notice on the website on June 7, but many candidates did not receive the information in time, leading to errors in registration.

Many candidates said they could not access the correction notice on June 7 (Screenshot).
In response to public and candidate reactions, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said it had received feedback from candidates registering for group D66 about confusion between the civic education exam and the economics and law exam.
"The school is coordinating with relevant agencies to handle the situation to ensure the rights of candidates," the school said.
On the fanpage, the school posted a notice, instructing candidates to register with the combination D66 and X78 to send information before 5:00 p.m. on August 26 for support.
Civic education is a subject in the old general education program (2006). According to the new program (2018), this subject no longer exists, but there is a similar subject, economic and legal education.
