Initiated in 2018, the National English Champion Festival has become a prestigious playground, contributing to arousing the love and improving the ability to use English for primary and secondary school students nationwide. Through the seasons, the program not only trains foreign language skills but also develops the spirit of self-study and creativity - essential qualities in the digital age.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Writer and Journalist Nguyen Phan Khue - Member of the Central Council of Young Pioneers, Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, said that the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper is a companion of the National English Contest 2026, which promises to be a meaningful journey for participating students. The contest will fuel the passion for learning, arouse the spirit of integration and nurture a generation of Vietnamese students who are confident, courageous and ready to reach international standards.

Emphasizing the Politburo's issuance of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, dated August 22, 2025 on breakthroughs in education and training development, and the Government's issuance of Resolution No. 281/NQ-CP to make English the second language in schools, Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai Huu, Head of the National Foreign Language Project Management Board, Ministry of Education and Training , and Head of the Contest Jury, said that the English Trang Nguyen Festival will contribute to gradually making English the language used to learn other subjects, and no longer a foreign language subject.
The 2026 National English Champion Festival will be organized in an innovative format, applying artificial intelligence technology through the AI Speak feature of the Edupia AI Class application - the first AI-based English class in Vietnam.

AI Speak provides a realistic simulation environment for students to practice, reflect and apply English naturally, thereby forming effective self-study skills and preparing a solid foundation for the international integration process.
The program consists of 3 main rounds.
Mr. Tran Duc Hung - General Director of Edupia shared that there will be 3 gifts for the winner of the Contest, which is a study trip to Singapore according to the schedule of the Organizing Committee.

In parallel with the competition rounds, the program will deploy the "Light the Fire" journey with the message: "Light the fire of passion - Unleash the source of knowledge, for a generation of Vietnamese students who are good at English". The journey will take place in 15 provinces and cities representing the three regions of the North, Central and South, aiming to spread the movement of self-studying English in and out of school for primary and secondary school students nationwide.
In particular, the Organizing Committee will award more than 400,000 "Light the Fire" scholarships in the form of courses on the Edupia AI Class platform for students in localities with difficult economic conditions such as: Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Ca Mau, Dong Thap.
The total value of the scholarship is expected to be up to 978,705,000,000 VND (nine hundred and seventy-eight billion seven hundred and five million VND). The scholarship provides the opportunity to experience modern English learning methods, helping students access knowledge and improve the quality of their studies.
The 2026 National English Champion Festival includes 3 nine- hour rounds:
