University apologizes to 75 candidates who failed and passed the university entrance exam

The leaders of the University of Finance and Marketing apologized to 75 candidates who were falsely admitted or unfairly failed and asked other schools to accept candidates in their next choice.

Mr. Le Trung Dao, Vice Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, said that in the process of implementing regular university admissions in 2025, the school will convert scores from English certificates to English subject scores in the admission subject group.

During the implementation process, due to errors in data processing, some candidates had their scores calculated incorrectly, affecting their admission results. This error did not originate from the general admission support system of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) but from the data processing within the school's admission process.

This caused 75 candidates to fall into a situation of falsely passing or falsely failing. The scores of 75 candidates were calculated incorrectly. This is something no one wants in the admission process.

Immediately after that, the school reported the incident to the Ministry of Education and Training for advice and coordination in handling. Because these candidates could not confirm their admission online on the Ministry of Education and Training system, the school could not know which school the candidates wanted to attend next. Therefore, the school contacted each candidate to find out, then contacted other schools to consider the candidates' admission.

For candidates who passed but failed, the school directly contacted them to notify them of the adjusted admission results according to the next consecutive admission wishes. At the same time, the school sent official dispatches to the candidates' admission wishes to support and facilitate the candidates to enroll according to their new admission wishes. There were 42 students who went from passing to failing and were considered for admission in the next wishes.

There were 33 candidates who went from failing to passing and were sent admission notices by the school, enrolling in the school as desired.

Mr. Dao apologized to the 75 candidates for the unexpected incident that affected their psychology. The school always ensures the maximum benefit of the candidates, and is open, transparent and coordinates with the Ministry of Education and Training in supervising and handling this matter.
