During the "Independence Day - Warmth of Compassion" event organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thanh commune, Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of August 30th, many students, young people, and people in difficult circumstances smiled happily upon receiving unexpected gifts.

The "Independence Day - Warmth of Affection" festival, organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thanh commune, Ho Chi Minh City, was held on the morning of August 30th at Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School.

Seeing her daughter go on stage to receive her new bicycle, Mrs. Luong My Linh (from Dong Thanh commune) quickly took out her phone to capture the moment.
Ms. Linh said she is a single mother raising four children on her own. Her two older children have stable jobs and help support their two younger siblings' education. Although only in 9th grade, her daughter, Hoang Nhi, has already set her sights on studying at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts.
"Despite our difficult family circumstances, I was determined to give my children a proper education. Seeing my child receive a new bicycle made me very happy. From now on, my child can go to school on their own," Mrs. Linh said with a bright smile.

Ms. Linh was very proud that her daughter had achieved good academic results and received a bicycle before the start of the new school year.

For students in suburban areas, a bicycle is an invaluable gift, making their commute to school much easier.

One person gets the car, the whole family is happy.
Holding the Luong Dinh Cua scholarship in his hands, Vo Nguyen Hoang Phuc, a student at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, felt very fortunate and happy. This gift is a source of motivation that helps him study harder and strive for more success.
Phuc recounted that his family used to be classified as a poor household, but now they have escaped poverty, although life is still difficult. Besides studying, Phuc works many part-time jobs to help his mother support the family financially .
"Throughout my four years of university, the Dong Thanh commune government provided me with significant financial support for my tuition. Currently, I'm doing an internship at the commune's People's Committee, and I plan to take the civil service exam to secure a stable job and pursue further education," Phuc shared.

The event awarded 8 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai scholarships and 18 Luong Dinh Cua scholarships.

Hoc Mon Charity Association donated 50 bicycles to underprivileged students.

The event awarded 8 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai scholarships and 18 Luong Dinh Cua scholarships with a total budget of 36 million VND; donated 50 bicycles to disadvantaged children; presented 100 gifts to people in difficult circumstances; organized zero-cost stalls; and launched national flag-lined roads and "Civilized - Clean - Safe" roads in the area.
Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thanh commune, said that Dong Thanh commune was recently formed by merging three communes: Dong Thanh, Nhi Binh, and Thoi Tam Thon. It is also one of the communes with a high population density in Ho Chi Minh City.
Over the years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has become a strong bridge connecting all strata of the people. In particular, its special attention to students who overcome difficulties and strive for academic excellence affirms its commitment to ensuring that every generation is supported and no one is left behind.



People smiled broadly after receiving meaningful gifts.
"The 'Independence Day - Warmth of Affection' festival is not only an opportunity for people to recall the glorious historical traditions of the nation, but also a chance to strengthen solidarity, bond affection, and work together to care for the material and spiritual lives of the people," Mr. Hung affirmed.
