The University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has just announced its expected regular university admission method for 2025. Accordingly, the school will use 3 admission methods for different types of candidates.

Method 1: Direct admission, priority direct admission, priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

In which, the admission conditions for subject 1 are according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Specifically, including: Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national excellent students in biology when registering for admission to the following majors: medicine, dentistry, traditional medicine, nursing; Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national excellent students in chemistry when registering for admission to the pharmacy major; Candidates who are eligible for direct admission as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 8 of the current University and College Admissions Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training must have excellent academic results in grades 10, 11, and 12. These subjects must study 1 year of additional knowledge before officially entering school. The University of Health Sciences notes that it does not directly admit candidates who have won the National Science and Technology Prize.

Admission requirements for the two priority groups for direct admission of excellent and talented high school students according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University include: Candidates must have excellent academic results, good training results in 3 years of high school and be in the group of 5 students with the highest average score of 3 years of high school recommended by the high school principal.

Admission requirements for the three priority admission categories according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University include: Candidates must have excellent academic results, good training results in 3 years of high school and be on the list of 149 high schools as prescribed by Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Admission principles: Subject 1 is considered based on the awards achieved until the quota is met. Subject 2, 3: Admission score is calculated on a 90-point scale. Admission score = total score of 3 subjects according to the subject combination in 3 years of high school + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (subject, region if any).

Bonus points are calculated as follows: Bonus points = 2.7 x IELTS score/9 + 2.7 x SAT score/1,600. If the total admission score after adding bonus points is greater than 90, take 90. Priority points are calculated according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on a 90-point scale.

Method 2: Admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025.

The condition for admission is that candidates take the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025. Candidates must have excellent 12th grade academic results. For nursing, candidates must have good 12th grade academic results or higher.

Admission score is calculated on a scale of 1,200. Admission score = Aptitude test score + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (subject, region if any).

Bonus points are calculated as follows: Bonus points = 36 x IELTS score/9 + 36 x SAT score/1,600. In case the total admission score after adding bonus points is greater than 1,200, take 1,200. Priority points are calculated according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on a scale of 1,200.

Method 3: Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2025.

The condition for admission registration is that candidates take the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Admission score is calculated on a 30-point scale. Admission score = High school exam score according to subject group + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (subject, region if any).

Bonus points are calculated as follows: Bonus points = 0.9 x IELTS score/9 + 0.9 x SAT score/1,600. In case the total admission score after adding bonus points is greater than 30, take 30. Priority points are calculated according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on a 30-point scale.

Time to receive application documents for admission methods

Method 1, candidates should note the time to receive application documents according to different candidate groups. Time and form to receive application documents for group 1 before 5:00 p.m. on June 30.

Subject 2, 3: Candidates perform the following steps:

Step 1: Declare information on the portal of Ho Chi Minh City National University at https://dangky.tuyensinh.vnuhcm.edu.vn/tuyensinh/dangKyDotXetTuyen.action from June 10 to June 25.

Step 2: Print the information declaration form, sign and confirm the information of the high school.

Step 3: Submit application to the school before 5:00 p.m. on June 30. The application includes: Information declaration form for university admission in 2025 printed from the Ho Chi Minh City National University admission registration system after completing steps 1 and 2; Handwritten essay of the candidate about admission wishes to the major/group of majors; IELTS certificate/SAT test results (if any).

Step 4: Candidates declare their admission wishes on the general admission system according to the plan and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Methods 2 and 3: Time and form of receiving application documents according to the plan and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Thus, compared to 2024, the University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has sharply reduced the number of admission methods. From 9 admission methods last year, this university only uses 3 admission methods this year. Some admission methods that were used last year will not appear this year, such as: considering candidates who graduated from university in related majors; combining high school academic results and professional diplomas and certificates; combining high school graduation exam results in 2024 and international English certificates, etc.
