Among them, Nguyen Gia Lam, a first-year student majoring in e-commerce, was awarded a 50% scholarship for the entire course. Gia Lam is the character in the video report “High School Graduation Exam 2025: The graphic design dream of a ‘penguin’ student who lost all four limbs” published by Thanh Nien Newspaper in June.
He was born with congenital heart disease. At the age of 2, Gia Lam had to undergo surgery to have the condition treated, but complications later became so severe that doctors had to amputate all four of his limbs to save his life. The disease also caused his family to go bankrupt, and his parents had to do all kinds of jobs to support their children's education.
Despite adversity, Gia Lam still strives to study and overcome everything to fulfill his dream of studying with his twin brother Gia Hung.

Behind each scholarship is not only material value, but also sharing and companionship. The example of perseverance like Nguyen Gia Lam has touched the hearts and reminded every student that with faith and support, every dream can be reached.
Those are also the humanistic values that Van Hien University is continuing to write on the journey of sowing knowledge and nurturing aspirations for the young generation.
