On this occasion, Tran Phu Secondary School, named after the first General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, was honored to receive the First-Class Labor Medal (for the second time).
Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; Mr. Le Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee; Mr. Do Duy Hung, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training; and representatives of the Le Chan ward leadership.
The heroic Tran Phu Junior High School was established in the early days after the liberation of Hai Phong, in 1955. From the Hai Phong Secondary School – the first school for the children of resistance fighters in the city – the school was officially named after the revolutionary, the steadfast communist soldier and General Secretary Tran Phu in 1957.
Throughout its history, marked by ups and downs, the school has grown and is associated with the names of its principals: Bui Tru, Doan Dong Giao, Le Manh Giao, Nguyen Trong Khue, Le Van The, Nguyen Van An, Le Ngoc Anh, Doan Dinh Tinh, Hoang Thi Quyen, Cao Chinh Khai, Le Thuy Hanh, and Le Thi Minh Tam. Each period has brought about significant developments, creating a proud highlight in the school's educational quality.
In particular, the prestigious title of Hero of Labor during the đổi mới (renovation) period is a source of pride and motivation for generations of teachers and students at the school.
Ms. Le Thi Minh Tam, the school principal, shared: "Entering the new era of the 4.0 revolution, Tran Phu Secondary School quickly seized the opportunity by pioneering the strategy of modernizing education in terms of facilities and teaching methods; leading the important, fundamental, and comprehensive reform of education and training."
Over 70 years of formation and development, many generations of highly qualified teachers, with their love for the profession, enthusiasm, and continuous learning, have trained many generations of excellent and morally upright students, bringing about many high achievements in all fields.
Tran Phu Junior High School proudly leads the city in the city-level student excellence competition for 26 consecutive years; it has won hundreds of medals in the Phu Dong Sports Festival, sports competitions, and intellectual exchange contests. The school is honored to have received prestigious championship cups in many major competitions such as "Conquering the Future," Science and Technology, Robocom, AI, and arts and culture...
In the 2024-2025 school year, the school achieved many proud accomplishments. Specifically, in the academic competition for gifted students , 62 students won awards at the city level, the Math and English teams won 28 awards, and 35 awards at the district level.
Students from the school have won numerous top prizes in competitions organized by various levels: First Prize at the city level, Gold Prize in the Northern region, National Championship in the "Conquering the Future" competition; Third Prize in the 6th "Le Chan in My Heart" competition; 2 First Prizes in the Hai Phong Children's Drawing Competition based on books and newspapers at the district level; Second Prize in the "Ringing the Golden Bell" at the MOD Open Mathematics Festival; First Prize at the city level, Honorable Mention at the city level and Northern Championship in the "Robotacon First Lego League 2025" competition in Hai Phong city…
