According to Hungarian law, this State Medal is awarded at the proposal of the Prime Minister and approved by the President. This is the recognition of the Hungarian State for the persistent and great contributions of Dr. Vu Hoai Chuong in the dissemination of language and the development of Vietnamese - Hungarian cultureand education .

Specifically, Dr. Vu Hoai Chuong and his colleagues compiled two dictionaries. The first book was “Hungarian-Vietnamese Scientific Vocabulary” for Vietnamese students in Hungary, published by Budapest Textbook Publishing House in 1967. This book was reprinted three times and in 1967 was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Vietnam’s Ministry of Higher Education. The second book was the Great Hungarian-Vietnamese Dictionary, consisting of two volumes, published by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Publishing House in 1974. In 1974, this book was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Vietnam’s Ministry of Higher Education and the Minister of Culture and Education of Hungary.
As a former student in Hungary, Dr. Vu Hoai Chuong taught Hungarian at Hanoi University of Foreign Languages (now Hanoi University). He has been an active member of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association since 1995, serving as Vice President of the Association from 2008 to 2020. During his career, he has made many positive contributions to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
