  Pioneer in implementing the resolution

In the context of Vietnam accelerating the implementation of digital economic development goals, Agribank has clearly demonstrated its pioneering role by quickly concretizing major policies of the Party and State on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Immediately after the Politburo issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW (dated December 22, 2024) on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, and the Government implemented Resolution 03/NQ-CP (dated January 9, 2025), Agribank took specific actions. The Agribank Party Committee issued Plan No. 77-KH/DU to make innovation and digital technology a strategic breakthrough in the entire system.

Then, on March 26, 2025, the General Director of Agribank officially launched the Action Program for Innovation and Digital Transformation in 2025. This is not only an internal program but also a strong commitment of Agribank to the national digital transformation process, in which "customer-centric" and the "5 clear" criteria are the foundation: clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear progress, clear efficiency.

Not stopping at high-level programs, Agribank Trade Union also proactively organized the Contest "Learning and innovating, digital transformation in the banking industry and Agribank". The contest is a playground to inspire creativity, spread digital awareness to each officer and employee.

In fact, these activities have contributed to the serious implementation of the "Digital Education for All" movement launched by the Prime Minister. At the same time, they have created a strong change in the awareness and actions of the entire Agribank system, helping the bank to access the digital economy more deeply and build a modern and sustainable banking model.

In addition, Agribank also strives to develop smart, multi-channel products and services, apply information technology to management and operations, optimize operational efficiency and enhance user experience. This is clear evidence that banks not only change tools but also change their approach and philosophy of customer service.

Digital transformation spreads to every citizen

With nearly 20 million customers with deposit accounts, nearly 16 million ATM card users, nearly 15 million customers using Mobile Banking services and more than 96% of transactions conducted via digital channels, Agribank is gradually realizing the goal of comprehensive digitalization.

In particular, Agribank identifies rural areas as the focus of digital transformation. Not only because this is where the majority of the population resides, but also because Agribank's historical mission is closely linked to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. Therefore, the bank focuses on investing heavily in automated banking models, such as Agribank Digital, Autobank (CDM), deploying nearly 2,000 machines in rural areas - out of a total of more than 3,500 machines nationwide.

Not only that, the bank also proactively supports people to open accounts remotely, authenticated through VNeID digital identification, aiming at the goal that everyone – even in the most remote areas – can access financial services. Through this, more than 9 million accounts and 12 million cards have been issued in rural areas, contributing to social security payments for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged people.

The Party Committee, Board of Members, and Executive Board of Agribank identify that developing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are the top important breakthroughs in Agribank's development strategy.

In the journey of comprehensive digital transformation, Agribank aims to: All transactions are digitized - All customers are served. Agribank is deploying many technological solutions in customer service, aiming to improve service capacity and bring a close but safe and modern experience to all customers, notably: AI BOT Call Center (supports handling up to 70% of common problems of customers contacting the call center), digitizing transaction counters (shortening time and transaction process by up to 90%). To enhance reliability, the bank integrates biometric authentication, develops security solutions such as eKYC, AI BOT, authentication via VNeID platform. With cleaned data of nearly 9 million customers and more than 3 million accounts opened completely online, Agribank is gradually shifting to a personalized banking model - where each customer is cared for according to their individual needs.

Agribank launched a breakthrough action program to develop science and technology, innovation and digital transformation throughout the system.

Not stopping there, in mid-2024, Agribank launched the Agribank Plus application - an electronic banking version according to the "PLUS" criteria (Prime, Leading, United, Smart). This application helps customers make transactions in just a few seconds, from money transfer, bill payment to taxi calling, VnShop shopping, etc. In addition, the new version also integrates VNeID authentication, simplifies the login process and optimizes user experience.

Next is the Open Smart Bank solution, a strategic move to apply artificial intelligence, blockchain and big data to automate, enhance security and improve banking operations. This is the "open smart banking" model that Agribank is aiming for in the digital age, when customers are no longer limited by space or time in financial transactions.

Agribank constantly improves service quality, updates new and increasingly smarter features on applications.

Agribank's leaders said: As a key bank in investing in supporting the development and providing financial and credit services for the agricultural and rural areas, Agribank identifies its goal throughout its operations as promoting its network advantages, diversifying, providing high-quality retail banking products and services based on modern information technology, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of customers, maintaining its position as the leading bank in providing banking services for the agricultural, rural and farmer areas, contributing to promoting comprehensive finance.

Agribank's digital transformation efforts have contributed to promoting cashless payments and implementing the National Financial Inclusion Strategy.

In its rural digitalization strategy, Agribank aims to use technology to simplify procedures, helping people easily access the most basic services. To realize this goal, Agribank plans to deploy and install Agribank Digital automatic banking machines in rural, remote and isolated areas, especially those with limited access to conventional financial products and services, so that people can use digital banking utilities for public services as well as daily transactions.

Thanks to these efforts, Agribank is making a practical contribution to the process of building a digital society and developing comprehensive finance - as set out in the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, contributing to narrowing the digital gap between urban and rural areas, between the well-off and the disadvantaged.
