German coach Thomas Tuchel vented his anger on Bayern players after losing 0-1 to Werder Bremen in round 18 of the Bundesliga.
"This is our responsibility," Tuchel criticized the players in a post-match interview at the Allianz Arena. "I'm too tired to say we trained well. Nobody believes that anymore. I've been a coach long enough to assess whether training sessions are up to par. This has been going on for weeks."
The home defeat leaves Bayern seven points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen. After 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles, the Bavarian giants are facing the risk of losing the championship for the first time since the 2011-2012 season.

In the Champions League, Bayern easily secured their place in the round of 16. However, they lack consistency in the domestic league. After 17 rounds, Bayern have lost two and drawn two, while Leverkusen are in superb form, remaining unbeaten since the start of the season. Recently, there have been rumors of Bayern players being unhappy with Tuchel before their loss to the team currently in 14th place.
Commenting on his players' performance against Bremen, Tuchel said: "Clearly not good enough. For over 70 minutes, I didn't feel the team was playing to win. Then I did. We were extremely passive in the first half. The team lost possession a lot and were counter-attacked many times. We controlled the ball carelessly. Bayern deserved to lose this game."
According to Tuchel, the players need to re-evaluate themselves because when they sign with Bayern, it means they commit to playing with 100% effort. He believes Bayern are playing as if they are 10 points ahead and are saving their energy for the Champions League match next week.
Bayern will face Union Berlin in a rescheduled match next Wednesday hoping to close the gap with Leverkusen. Tuchel has urged his team to improve their performance. "We have to play better. If you play for Bayern and you're on Sunday, you don't need to peak on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. But especially, you have to peak on Sunday. That's something we haven't done. Clearly, the team hasn't performed up to par," said the 50-year-old coach.
