Young people are spreading the message of learning from and following Uncle Ho's example.

HNN - During the month of May, in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh, the youth of Hue City carried out many meaningful activities such as storytelling, painting, forums, and thematic discussions to spread the learning and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style to union members and children.

Stories about Uncle Ho

At the end of April, Nguyen Ha Bao Ngoc (a student from Le Loi Primary School) presented the story "Uncle Ho Visits the Orphans at Kim Dong Orphanage" at the "We Tell Stories About Uncle Ho" competition. With her expressive storytelling and vivid illustrations, Bao Ngoc's performance beautifully recreated the love and care that Uncle Ho showed for children when he visited the underprivileged children.

Sharing with the judges, Bao Ngoc said she had spent a lot of time practicing to be able to tell the story as naturally and expressively as possible. “Through the story, I understand even more about Uncle Ho’s love for children and I remind myself to be well-behaved and study hard to be worthy of being a good child of Uncle Ho.”

With nearly 50 participants, the storytelling competition created a serene atmosphere where students recounted exemplary stories about the life, career, ethics, and simple lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh , especially his affection for children. Through this, it contributed to developing their expressive and presentation skills, and helped them demonstrate their understanding and concrete actions in their studies and training according to the five teachings of Uncle Ho.

Besides the storytelling competition, the "Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho" festival in 2026 , organized by the Hue City Youth Center in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Museum, attracted nearly 300 primary and secondary school students participating in many practical activities.

This May, youth union branches at all levels in the city have been implementing many meaningful activities to commemorate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth. Notable activities include: laying wreaths and reporting achievements at the Ho Chi Minh Museum; participating in an online competition to learn about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh in 2026; honoring exemplary young people who follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings; organizing a youth forum on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style…

To make learning from and following Uncle Ho's example a regular practice.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City and Secretary of the City Youth Union, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style is not only a part of the May celebrations dedicated to him, but has become a regular activity for young people throughout the city. Many good models, new approaches, and engaging activities are being effectively maintained by youth union branches at all levels.

By 2025 alone, the study of thematic topics was seriously implemented among youth union officials, members, and young people. The Hue City Youth Union organized a conference on studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh for youth union officials, members, and young people throughout the city. At the conference, key youth union officials in the city were briefed on many practical contents related to studying and following the example of President Ho Chi Minh. The thematic topics focused on promoting the strength of national unity, fostering self-reliance and self-improvement to build Hue City into a rapidly and sustainably developing city; studying President Ho Chi Minh's style of going to the grassroots; and simultaneously raising awareness of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Hue.

The "Youth Electronic Diary Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" model continues to be widely implemented. This is a way for Youth Union members and young people to self-improve and reflect on their own efforts. Political activities with the theme "Remembering Uncle Ho - Our Hearts Become Purer" are also regularly organized. On the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and other important milestones in his life and career, many youth groups and teams simultaneously implement the theme "Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho".
