Commemorating and praying for the souls of heroic martyrs

(DN) - On the afternoon of August 26, at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Dong Nai province in Dong Tam commune, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, departments, branches and sectors to organize a ceremony to pray for the souls of heroic martyrs buried on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Through information collection, from the beginning of August until now, Team K72, Political Department, Military Command of Dong Nai province has deployed the work of searching, collecting and gathering the remains of 30 martyrs. Based on information synthesis and appraisal, these are martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against the US to save the country in localities in the province.

After the incense offering, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province performed a requiem ceremony, praying for the souls of the heroic martyrs to be reborn in the Pure Land, and for national peace and prosperity.

The ceremony to visit, pay tribute to, bury the remains of martyrs and offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs will be solemnly held by the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee tomorrow morning (August 27) on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The memorial service is also an opportunity for today's generations to remember the beautiful tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people, and to deeply express gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
