The project will contribute to promoting the construction of green infrastructure and climate change adaptation, increasing access to public spaces and enhancing the province's capacity in planning, land management and urban adaptation to climate change.
The project will facilitate the development of the eastern industrial zone of the province. |
The coastal road has an inter-regional connection, forming an economic corridor, a driving force for socio-economic development of coastal localities in the Mekong Delta in general and Dong Thap province in particular.
The investment in the construction of the coastal road combined with important traffic routes in the area such as National Highway 50, provincial roads including: 862, 871, 871B, 871C, 872B, 873, 873B, 877, 877B... creates favorable conditions for the development of the eastern industrial zone of the province with industrial parks and clusters and coastal tourist areas, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
In addition, the project is invested to connect the coastal corridor of the province and coastal provinces of the Mekong Delta with Ho Chi Minh City; expand development space, create land fund for investment in production and business, and improve the efficiency of marine resources.
At the same time, attract investment to develop the province's eastern industrial zone, urban areas, tourism, aquaculture; strengthen security and defense. The coastal road can be combined with the Go Cong sea dike to relocate coastal residents, minimizing damage from the impact of natural disasters, climate change and rising sea levels.
During a recent survey trip, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang assigned the Department of Construction to urgently complete documents and procedures for the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval of the investment policy decision for the Coastal Road Project section passing through the province in July 2025.
At the same time, the Dong Thap Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is required to proactively prepare and coordinate with relevant units to carry out site clearance and resettlement work for the project.
