On February 27, Yen Lap Forest Protection Department organized a propaganda conference on sustainable forest certification (FSC) in Trung Son commune for 50 people including heads of administrative areas, forest owners and local people.
At the conference, delegates heard forest rangers introduce the importance of being granted FSC sustainable forest certification in increasing the economic value of forests, protecting the environment and meeting international standards on forestry development. When being granted FSC certification, it will help people expand the market for legal wood products, contributing to improving sustainable livelihoods.
At the same time, the forest rangers provided detailed instructions on the registration process, necessary requirements and benefits of participating in FSC certification. People and forest growers actively discussed and asked questions to better understand the support policy as well as how to apply it to production practices.
The conference contributed to raising public awareness of sustainable forest management, guiding people to effectively implement FSC standards, and developing forestry in an environmentally friendly and economically valuable direction.
