OLED TVs may become more affordable.

Once priced at several hundred million VND per model when first launched, OLED TV prices have gradually cooled down in recent years, making them more accessible to a wider range of consumers. Speaking at the launch event for LG Electronics Vietnam's new 2024 TV lineup on May 23rd, Mr. Song Ikhwan, General Director of Sales and Marketing at LG Electronics Vietnam, revealed that OLED TV prices may decrease compared to current levels.

Lowering the price of OLED TVs is one of the strategies that will be implemented in Vietnam.

Specifically, LG's leadership stated that in its strategy to maintain its position in the Vietnamese TV market in the coming period, LG has set two goals. "First, to reduce the price of OLED TVs, and second, to bring TV products with unique experiences that better meet the needs of the Vietnamese market and users," Mr. Song Ikhwan emphasized.

At the event, LG also launched several new TV models that will be available in Vietnam in 2024, including the OLED evo M4 – the world's first OLED TV with 4K wireless connectivity up to 144 Hz thanks to a wireless receiver box (Zero Connect Box) that can be placed up to 9 meters away from the TV. This design minimizes the number of connecting cables, reduces clutter, and provides convenience for installation and arrangement of external devices.

Additionally, there are other OLED lines including G4, C4, and B4 with a variety of screen sizes, from 42 inches to 97 inches. The 2024 QNED series models, QNED80, 86, 89, 91, and 99, are also available in Vietnam, ranging from 43 to 98 inches. A highlight of the LG QNED 2024 TV line is its Million Grey Scale technology, which can adjust brightness in detail for each small image block, increasing contrast and color accuracy.

The aforementioned product lines are all equipped with next-generation processors, delivering significantly higher AI performance compared to their predecessors, improving both graphics performance and processing speed. WebOS continues to be the pre-installed operating system on the company's products, with enhanced security and a commitment to operating system updates for five consecutive years.

The OLED evo M4 TV with 4K wireless connectivity is now officially available in Vietnam.

Another noteworthy detail confirmed by LG's leadership at the event is that with the new TV models, the remote control (often called a "flying mouse" in Vietnam) will integrate a quick access button to the VTVGo application, as required by the regulatory authority.

Applied to TV production more than 10 years ago, OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology has gradually proven the correctness of manufacturers' decisions to pursue this path. Numerous studies and surveys show that OLED panels are more durable than some other technologies, lighter in weight, and have significantly contributed to changing the design of modern TVs.

In addition, OLED screens consume less power while delivering deeper blacks and a wider color gamut compared to older technologies. Because they don't use backlighting, OLEDs also offer high contrast and a wide viewing angle of nearly 90 degrees without compromising color quality.

Recently, Apple also decided to use OLED panels on its newly launched iPad Pro line, instead of the previous miniLED technology. Many reviewers around the world have conducted tests to explain why Apple chose this technology for its popular tablet.
