VND/USD exchange rate skyrockets in the free market

The exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar on the morning of April 18 recorded a simultaneous increase at banks, the central rate applied by the State Bank and especially on the free market.

At the State Bank, the central exchange rate of the Vietnamese Dong against the US dollar applied on April 18 was 24,898 VND/USD, an increase of 5 VND compared to April 17.

With a margin of +/-5%, today's ceiling exchange rate is 26,143 VND/USD, the floor exchange rate is 23,653 VND/USD. The reference exchange rate between Vietnamese Dong and foreign currencies at the State Foreign Exchange Reserve Management Department is 23,704 - 26,092 VND/USD (buy - sell).

At Vietcombank , the updated exchange rate at 9:05 am on April 18 was 25,710 - 26,100 (buy - sell), an increase of 40 VND in both buying and selling.

At BIDV Bank, the exchange rate was listed this morning at 25,752 - 26,112 (buy - sell), both up 47 VND in both directions.

The exchange rate at VietinBank is 25,755 - 26,115 (buy - sell), an increase of 195 VND for buying and a decrease of 23 VND for selling compared to April 17.

In the free market, the USD exchange rate recorded a sharp increase in buying and selling prices compared to the previous session. The USD price was bought at a fairly high level of 26,271 VND and sold at 26,391 VND, an increase of 71 VND in buying and 91 VND in selling compared to the session on April 17.
