On July 21st, An Giang province reburied 81 remains of fallen soldiers.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee 515, a ceremony to pay respects, hold a memorial service, and bury the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the wars in Cambodia and in Vietnam is scheduled to be held on the morning of July 21st at the Doc Ba Dac Martyrs' Cemetery (Thoi Son Ward, An Giang Province), in commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).

The Provincial Military Command inspected the preparations for the reburial ceremony.

Agencies, units, and localities should display Party flags, national flags, and banners from July 17th to 27th. Intensify information and propaganda through mass media and social media platforms regarding the content and significance of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, and the activities of all levels of government in the "Gratitude and Repayment" work...

During the 2024-2025 dry season, Team K93 (Provincial Military Command) and Team K90 (Military Region 9) searched for and collected 81 remains of fallen soldiers. Of these, Team K93 collected 56 remains and Team K90 collected 25 remains. The organization of the memorial service, funeral, and burial demonstrated respect, solemnity, safety, and economy; reflecting the profound concern of the Party, State, and people for the fallen soldiers who participated in defending the Fatherland and performing international duties. The specialized agency advised on presenting gifts to the families of meritorious individuals and the K teams; handed over the remains of fallen soldiers to local authorities for management; received biological samples, and completed the procedures for transferring them to the Ministry of Interior .
