Authorized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Minister Nguyen Van Hung presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the U.23 Vietnam team and 24 individuals. In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also awarded 5 Certificates of Merit to other outstanding members of the team.
Sports leaders met with the Vietnam U.23 team to congratulate them on their excellent achievements at the 2025 Southeast Asian U.23 tournament.
U.23 Vietnam has spread a positive effect
At the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung sent congratulations from the Party, State and Prime Minister to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnam U.23 team.

The Minister emphasized: "The U.23 Southeast Asian Football Championship is a fiercely competitive playground with the participation of 10 countries in the region. Therefore, it will not be easy to win glory, especially when having to play away with great pressure. The U.23 Vietnam team has prepared thoroughly and successfully defended the championship after two consecutive victories."
The Minister affirmed that this victory was not only the result of a tournament but also the result of a meticulous and professional training process. The excellent achievements of U.23 Vietnam have created a positive effect spreading throughout society, contributing to strengthening the belief in the sustainable development of Vietnamese football.
Minister Nguyen Van Hung also expressed his hope that the U.23 Vietnam team, with its youth, enthusiasm, thorough training and the support of millions of fans, will continue to promote the spirit of dedication and maintain its aspiration to reach far. That aspiration will become the flame that fuels the spirit, helping the U.23 Vietnam team fulfill its responsibility to the Fatherland and the people. The U.23 Vietnam team must not rest on its laurels, and must always deeply remember the motto of the Vietnamese people: "Win without pride, lose without discouragement".
VFF HAS A THOUGHTFUL PLAN
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan shared that VFF and the U.23 Vietnam team were very touched by the affection and attention of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Sports Administration.

"This is the third time the U.23 Vietnam team has won the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship away from home, but the special thing is that while the previous two times the team won the championship away from home against neutral opponents (the first time they won against U.23 Thailand in Cambodia, the second time they won against U.23 Indonesia in Thailand - PV ), this time they won the championship against the home team. The players played with a strong, intelligent, and courageous spirit and will try to continue to promote their achievements to compete well in the remaining two major tournaments this year, which are the U.23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games. The VFF also has a plan to prepare carefully, scientifically, and thoroughly for the team to prepare for the next two tournaments, with the goal at the SEA Games being to be present in the final match," Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized.
The Prime Minister presented Certificates of Merit to the U.23 Vietnam team and 24 individuals: players Tran Trung Kien, Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Tan, Le Van Ha, Nguyen Van Truong, Pham Ly Duc, Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Vo Anh Quan, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Khuat Van Khang, Dang Tuan Phong, Nguyen Thanh Dat, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Pham Minh Phuc, Le Van Thuan, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Ngoc My, Nguyen Duc Anh, Nguyen Phi Hoang, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Nhat Minh, Le Viktor; Assistant Coach Luu Danh Minh.
Five individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, including: Head of the U.23 Vietnam team Tran Anh Tu, interpreter Do Anh Van, doctor Nguyen Truong An, medical staff Vu Anh Dung and Luu Quang Loi.

Head coach Kim Sang-sik expressed his honor to be welcomed by Minister Nguyen Van Hung, and was moved to share his great joy when the U.23 Vietnam team received a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh right after the emotional final match. Mr. Kim sent his deep thanks to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Sports Administration, the VFF and the numerous fans. Coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that the careful preparation by the VFF, including the important training trip in Vung Tau, was the foundation for the achievement of winning the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship 2025.
