On September 18 (Vietnam time), in Germany, the Vietnam U17 women's team had the second friendly match within the framework of the European training trip, against the Werder Bremen II women's team - a representative competing in the Regionalliga Nord (Germany's third division). With a squad with an average age of over 20 and extensive playing experience, the home team quickly dominated the game.

Despite facing strong opponents, the young Vietnamese players entered the match with confidence and determination. However, in the 27th minute, the home team broke the deadlock with a sideline attack.

In the 38th minute, in a situation where the Werder Bremen II goalkeeper did not handle the ball decisively, the ball hit Ha Vi and went into the net, bringing the equalizer 1-1 for U17 Vietnam.

However, just a few minutes later, the German team took the lead 2-1 from a diagonal shot, ending the first half with the advantage leaning towards the home team.

Entering the second half, Werder Bremen II took advantage of their experience and physical strength to continue to increase the gap with three goals in the 4th, 13th and 37th minutes.

U17 Vietnam continued to attack and almost scored a second goal in the 41st minute, but the decisive shot went over the crossbar. The match ended with a score of 6-1 in favor of the German representative.

Speaking after the match, head coach Okiyama Masahiko highly appreciated the quality and fitness of Werder Bremen II, and pointed out that the points that his players needed to improve were their ability to fight back and handle the ball when being approached.

Mr. Masahiko emphasized: “We lost the ball in many situations, which led to unfortunate goals. We need to take better advantage of opportunities to organize quick counter-attacks.”

According to the plan, the Vietnam U17 women's team will continue to have the next friendly match, against the Werder Bremen U17 women's team. This will be an opportunity for the team to improve their tactics and demonstrate their learning spirit in the journey towards official tournaments.
