On the morning of September 27th, at the first Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, was assigned to the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior .
At the Congress, the leaders of the Central Organizing Committee announced the Politburo 's decisions on the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretaries of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Accordingly, Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, has been transferred to the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior. He will continue to serve until the completion of the agenda of the First Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee.

Mr. Do Thanh Binh was born in 1967 in Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province; he holds a master's degree in economics.
Mr. Do Thanh Binh is an official who rose through the ranks from the grassroots level and has held many positions in Kien Giang province, including: Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the District Youth Union; Vice Chairman and Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Thuan district, and Secretary of the District Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee; and is a member of the Central Executive Committee of the 13th Party Congress.
On January 17, the Politburo decided that Mr. Do Thanh Binh would relinquish his position as Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee; he was transferred, assigned, and appointed to the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee.
