The Cong Viettel and PVF are evenly matched because the quality of the two teams' squads is very high. Looking at the list, it can be seen that many players have been and are participating in the National Youth Teams such as Bao Long, Ba Dat, Quang Truong (PVF), Manh Hung, Thanh Dat, Cong Phuong (The Cong Viettel)... Among them, the midfielder duo Thanh Dat and Cong Phuong just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with U23 Vietnam and were put on the field in the starting lineup by coach Dang Thanh Phuong right after returning from Indonesia.

Thanks to that, the match was quite even. The midfield of both teams was strong with good fighting ability, so the midfield area was always a hot spot on the field right after the opening whistle. Also because they had many good midfielders, both The Cong Viettel and PVF mainly fought for the ball in the midfield area, leading to not many scoring opportunities in the first half.

In that balanced match, PVF unexpectedly scored a goal. From a cross from defender Bao Long in the 22nd minute, Ngoc Tai dribbled down the sideline and then sent a cross into the box, but the ball spun and rolled straight into the goal, surprising The Cong Viettel, bringing joy to PVF.

The Cong Viettel was forced to increase the pressure in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Thai Bao passed the ball to Huu Tuan to enter the 16m50 area, but this striker's shot went wide of the post, missing a clear scoring opportunity.

The opponent's missed opportunity was a wake-up call, forcing PVF to reinforce their defense. Coach Nguyen Duy Dong's students created a multi-layered defense in their home field and gave The Cong Viettel the initiative to control the ball up front. Despite taking the initiative to control the ball, facing PVF's highly disciplined play, The Cong Viettel did not have many breakthroughs in their attacks.

It was not until the final minutes that Cong Phuong and his teammates had clear scoring opportunities to hope to find an equalizer. The most regrettable situation for Dang Thanh Phuong and his team was Trung Hieu's long-range header in the 88th minute, but goalkeeper Quang Truong excellently pushed the ball over the crossbar.

Another notable situation of The Cong Viettel was Hoang Khanh's shot in extra time but PVF's goalkeeper once again made an excellent save. In the 90+5 minute, PVF captain Ba Dat received a red card after a foul on the opponent. However, PVF still maintained the score of 1-0 to win the championship.
